Wood Glass Pen Cherry Blossoms

The glass pen is a writing implement thought to have been developed in Japan in 1902.

Kuretake was founded in that same year, 1902.

In 2022, Kuretake released "Kuretake Wood Glass Pen Cherry Blossoms" as a commemorative product to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the company's founding.

The tip of each glass pen is hand-crafted by an artisan.

This allows you to enjoy writing with a smooth feel and easily absorbed ink.

■How to Use

The glass pen can be inked and reused again and again.

You can easily enjoy different colors of ink by washing the pen tip.

Wood Glass Pen Cherry Blossoms is made from hard (heat-resistant) glass, which is more durable and resistant to abrasion than ordinary glass.

When writing, tilt the glass pen slightly and write without applying too much pressure.

Rotate the pen tip a little at a time to make the ink flow out of the next groove.

You can enjoy the unique manner in which ink flows from a glass pen while adjusting the angle and timing of rotation as you see fit.

■Natural Cherry Wood from Mt. Yoshino

The pen shaft is made using natural cherry wood from Mt. Yoshino in Nara, Japan, a designated World Heritage Site.

The pen shaft exquisitely carved from Yoshino cherry wood offers a feeling of natural warmth and fits your hand better the more you use it.

Since it is a natural material, each product is completely unique, with subtle variations in color.

The wooden pen rest is also made from natural cherry wood.

<Please Note>

Be careful not to subject the pen tip to impacts, as this may cause it to break.

If ink adheres to the grooves of the pen tip, wash it gently under running water using an implement such as a paintbrush or toothbrush. After washing, wipe away any moisture and let the product dry thoroughly.

Since the shaft and pen rest are made of wood, ink and other stains should be wiped off immediately.

Because each glass pen is handmade, individual differences may exist. In addition, the color and design of the wooden shaft and pen rest will vary from item to item, since they are made from a natural material.
